SALT CITY HONK

Is a festival of community and activist street bands that is FREE to the public in Syracuse, NY (the mighty Salt City). Community and activist street bands, such as Syracuse’s own UNiTY Street Band, come from around the country to perform openly in public spaces as a way to uplift humanity and use the power of music to make the world a better place. Salt City Honk! Is partnered with the Crafted festival to help create a celebration of local artists.

Co-produced with Donna Vallese and the Unity Street Band.

Turning the parking lots into our own mini-Highline with Live music curated by L.R.S. Records on two stages, dozens of local artisan craft eats & drinks available from Local 315 Brewing Company, The Sweet Praxis, Papa Gallo Taco Truck, Anything But Beer, Eden CNY and more!

“Michael John is the collaborator that helps make dreams come true! He has become one of UNiTY Street Band’s biggest supporters and best collaborators! When we brought the idea of Salt City Honk! to him, he took the time to listen and understand what a Honk! Festival was all about and it didn’t take long for us to begin planning. In 2019, we held the first ever Salt City Honk! in conjunction with Crafted and in my humble opinion it was an epic inaugural Honk! Michael John has a gift for finding opportunities for promotion and development that would not have been possible without him! Our collaboration has included more than just this one festival. UNiTY is so fortunate to have an ambassador like Michael John to work with us on bringing our mission to fruition by putting the UNiTY back in commUNiTY through the joy of music!”
